Meeting with Oksana Syroyid, Vice President for Public Policy and Government of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE)

Today, together with the Director of Strategic Communications of the Association Victoriia Liulina, we had a very warm and interesting meeting with the Vice President for Public Policy and Government of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) Oksana Syroyid.
Meeting with Oksana Syroyid, Vice President for Public Policy and Government of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE)

Oksana Ivanivna hospitably invited us to the new KSE room and took a tour of it.
Honestly, I have long wanted to visit here.
The new building is pleasantly impressive: spacious bright auditoriums, a computer class, an investment hall, a gym and a terrace.
Most classrooms are built on the principle of open space.
KSE is one of the best schools in Central and Eastern Europe, preparing the next generation of world-class economists and managers.

We had an interesting and constructive conversation.
KSE together with the State Concern Ukroboronprom plan to hold a conference on security and defense in Odessa in July this year.
Oksana Ivanivna suggested delegating a representative of the Association to the conference.
I gladly agreed. In addition, I presented the activities of the Association. I spoke about the key private enterprises that are members of our Association, and the products they produce in the segments: production of weapons, military and special equipment, protective equipment.

I asked the conference to hold a discussion on the most painful issues which both public and private manufacturers of military equipment are facing.
In particular, it is the over-regulation of export-import operations in the defense sector, which contributes to the monopolization of the defense industry, rather than its development. Multi-level and non-transparent system of obtaining permits in export control, systematic violations of deadlines for processing applications from exporters, non-transparent decision-making procedure lead to opportunities for corruption in this area.

Oksana Ivanivna fully agreed with me that this issue is still unresolved in Ukraine and needs to be discussed at the conference and appropriate proposals to simplify these procedures to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence and the Ministry of Strategic Industry.

As a result of the meeting, they agreed on further cooperation in the field of defense and security.

Chairman of the Board,

Ruslan DZHALILOV
