President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi during his visit to the Desna Training Center got acquainted with the new development of a enterprise-member of the AUDM

On December 12, on the Day of the Land Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the 169th Desna Training Center named after Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with the President, the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Defense Andriy Taran, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak and others visited the center.

During the visit, the head of the Association of Manufacturers of Arms and Military Equipment of Ukraine Ruslan DZHALILOV presented to the President of Ukraine a prototype of the latest unmanned robotic combat platform.

“The need to create a robotic platform is dictated by global trends in the development of forms and methods of hostilities, which, in turn, indicate the need for a radical overhaul of operational and tactical requirements for weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to create a technological army.

Leading European countries and the United States plan to develop the capabilities of the ground forces in the medium term by increasing the number of robotic combat platforms for various purposes,” said Mr. Dzhalilov, presenting the prototype.

Ground combat operations are ready to replace fighters in the most dangerous areas of the armed confrontation with Russia. Even taking into account the Ceasefire Regime, which began in the summer of 2020, the ground-based robotic complexes could significantly assist the Armed Forces during rotations, especially for access to complex and remote positions and for engineering equipment of its own positions. . And also to carry out timely evacuation of the wounded, which, unfortunately, happen even during the “Ceasefire Regime”.

The robotic platform is quiet and invisible, because it is small in silhouette, has no radiation in the infrared spectrum and leaves almost no track on the ground. Even a reconnaissance drone hardly sees it, ”Mr. Dzhalilov continued.

Scientific work on the above project was initiated by the Command of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of the State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Arms and Military Equipment (Chernihiv).

After getting acquainted with the prototype, the representatives of the military department voiced proposals for further work on the prototype, which will bring it closer to the adoption of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

1. Creating two versions of the platform: hybrid and electric:

· The range for the electric model will be 10 km

· The range for the hybrid model with a diesel power unit will be 100 km.

2. Improving the system of remote control of the platform and increasing the frequency characteristics from 2.4 to 7 GHz, which will create the necessary stability in the implementation of missions.

3. Production of an armored capsule from 4 mm Swedish armor steel Swebor Armor ™, which will protect the robotic platform from bullets and fragments.

Additionally, the issue of platform equipment in the basic configuration of the EW is being worked out: with noticeable use in conflict zones, the works will be able to independently create a continuous “masking curtain” of obstacles for enemy drones.

In addition, counter-battery reconnaissance equipment is under development, which can also be easily placed on the platform: being on a conditional collision line, the robot will be able to register a shot, identify the type of artillery or small arms, set its current coordinates, instantly transmit this information to higher software. level to enable rapid response and high-precision suppression of enemy activity.

“As for the cost of the platform, for example, the same armored personnel carrier costs at least as much as 10 robotic systems. However, the combat effectiveness of armored personnel carriers in modern conditions will be less than the effectiveness of one robotic platform equipped with additional ATGM, which is also quite capable of replacing the Soviet “Competitions” – added a member of the Supervisory Board of the Association of Manufacturers of Arms and Military Equipment of Ukraine Oleksandr KUZMA.
