Forum of the Association “Development of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine and the role and place of the private sector in it”

Today, for the first time this year, our Association held the Forum “Development of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine and the role and place of the private sector in it.”

The event discussed the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Defense Procurement” and the procedure for the implementation of by-laws related to the development, serial production and procurement of weapons and military equipment.

It is clear that the process of such a global transformation of national legislation in the field of defense procurement cannot be simple. Today there are a number of problems, risks and challenges that need to be solved as soon as possible.

Also discussed were topical issues of foreign economic activity and the execution of orders for the production of defense and dual purpose products, as well as obtaining export authorizations for the execution of foreign contracts.

The Forum was attended by the leadership of KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi, Ministry of Strategic Industries, representatives of DK Ukroboronprom, Black Trident, Independent Anti-corruption Commission – NAKO, U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), Kryzhanivskyi and Partners JSC, management of leading private companies of Ukraine – members of our Association.

We are extremely grateful to Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Inna Malyukova, and Peter Bernatskyi to the leadership of the Igor Sikorskyi National Technical University of Ukraine for their hospitality and help in organizing the Forum. KPI is the leading university of Ukraine in the training of personnel for the defense industry and the development of the latest defense technologies.
According to the results of the event, an agreement was reached on the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Igor Sikorskyi KPI and our Association.

The event turned out to be extremely constructive, productive and hopefully useful for its participants.

Dialogue and effective cooperation between the central bodies of executive power, scientific and educational institutions, manufacturers of weapons and military equipment, and public organizations are the key to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
