Motor Sich has certified the production of metal blades for helicopters

As ukrinform.ua reported, the head of Motor Sichi, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, stated that the company had received a certificate for the production of propeller blades.

“Today is an extraordinary event in the aviation life of Ukraine. We have been saying for many years that we, the “motorists”, will create Ukrainian helicopters. We have come close to this, and today the helicopters we have in our arms consist of Zaporizhzhya motors, a Zaporizhzhya gearbox, transmission, cabin, and today we have mastered – blades. The blades are what hold the helicopter, ”Boguslaev said.

He also stated that the Zaporizhzhya aircraft company has certified metal blades, and composite blades will be created by the end of the year.

He presented a certificate of production rights to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleg Uruskyi.

“In December, the process of testing the blades began, and today, less than six months later, the Minister of Defence received passports, and the company received certification for the production of blades. There has been a lot of talk around the company lately. “Motor Sich was, is and will be a strategic enterprise,” said Oleg Uruskyi.

He also handed over passports for three sets of blades to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Taran.

“We received three passports. I believe that by the 30th anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine we will receive six more sets. We hope that there will be at least 6 more sets. We need several dozen sets,” Taran said.

In turn, the Minister of Defence handed over a copy of the order on the acceptance of metal blades into service.

The blades for Mi-24 helicopters were previously produced only by the United States, Russia and China.
