Antonov received engines for the An-178 of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces

The state enterprise “Antonov” already received engines for the future transport planes An-178 of Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – reports Militarnyi.

Vyacheslav Boguslaev, the head of Motor Sich JSC, told Ukrinform about this in an interview.

It has only recently been reported that an agreement has been reached between the companies for four D-436-148FM engines.

Two of them, subject to timely advance payment, must be delivered on DDP terms by the end of this year and two more – by the end of October next year.

First of all, the Ministry of Defense addressed the issue of aviation development: it ordered three An-178 transport aircraft. We have already made engines and gave them to SE “Antonov”, – Boguslaev told.

Currently, the Antonov state enterprise has orders for four An-178 aircraft – one for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Peru, and three more for the Air Forces of the Armed Forces.

At the end of May, the first corps of the An-178-100P military multi-purpose transport aircraft for the Air Force of Ukraine was completed at the Antonov State Enterprise.

The contract for three An-178 aircraft for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was signed on December 29, 2020.

The “Peruvian” board with serial number 006 is being built within the framework of an agreement signed in 2019 between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Peru and SE “Spetstechnoexport”.

Recently, it and the An-178 research aircraft were rolled to another production site at the plant, where they will be assembled, and the An-178 fuselages for the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be assembled in this shop.

An-178 – medium transport aircraft designed for delivery of personnel, weapons and light military equipment by landing and parachute methods, transportation of materials, mail and other cargo “in bulk” or in standard containers and cargo on pallets with a total capacity of up to 18 tons.
