State testing of “Obolon-A” artillery automation system launched

The state testing of the unique Obolon-A artillery fire control complex has begun, which will increase the capabilities of our artillery units by 30-40 percent.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak while at the State Enterprise “Lviv State Plant” LORTA “.

“Today we are launching a state testing of Obolon-A, unique complex of the artillery fire control. This is a very necessary complex for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will increase the capabilities of our artillery units by 30-40 percent. It will be more mobile and effective, will increase the capabilities of fire damage of the enemy, as well as the survivability of crews

As Poltorak noticed, the complex is a modern and unique technique that does not have any spare parts for the aggressor country. According to him, after the successful completion of these tests, the complex will be adopted and its serial production will be commenced.

The Obolon-A complex is a new generation automated artillery fire control system. It provides real-time integration of combat units with all types of intelligence, reception and processing of data on dozens of goals.

The Obolon-A complex includes:

Division Commander Machine (1B25-2)
the car of the Chief of Staff of the Division (1B26-2)
battery commander’s car (1B25-1)
cars of the senior officer of the battery (1B26-1)
All cars can be produced both on a crawler ride (for self-propelled artillery) and on a wheel (for a trailer artillery) chassis.
