Military training Rapid Trident-2018

The opening ceremony will take place at the International Peacekeeping and Safety Center of the National Land Academy of the Hetman Petras Sagaidachny in the village of Starychi, Yavoriv district of Lviv Oblast, the press service of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Since September 3, Ukraine has launched the largest international military training Rapid Trident-2018. These studies are the culmination of the annual multinational exercises, which testify to Ukraine’s support from foreign allies and partners.

What is known about large-scale training in Lviv region

In 2017, 2,500 troops from 15 countries took part in the training of Rapid Trident. In addition to Ukraine and the United States, armies from Canada, Bulgaria, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey and the United Kingdom took part in maneuvers. These are the largest joint exercises of the Armed Forces units and military units of foreign states in Ukraine.

Recall that the planning of military training began in January this year. During the planning process, US, British and Canadian troops are actively involved. Army officers from more than 10 NATO member countries and North Atlantic Alliance partners are also present.
